PE coated paper and release paper have many similarities to a certain extent, and their characteristics also overlap. For example, they are both waterproof and oil-proof, but how do we distinguish between PE coated paper and release paper?
The difference between PE coated paper & Release paper
The PE coated paper is composed of two layers, the first layer is the base paper, and the second layer is the coated film. The whole production process is to melt the PE plastic particles through a casting coating machine at high temperature and then evenly coat them on the surface of ordinary paper through a roller. As a result, PE coated paper roll is formed. Because a layer of film is coated on its surface, the paper becomes more tense and has a higher burst resistance. With the help of this layer of film, it can play a waterproof and oil-proof role.
The release paper is composed of three layers, the first layer of backing paper, the second layer of coating, and the third layer of silicone oil; on the basis of the coating paper, a layer of silicone oil is applied again, so we generally call it Silicone oil paper, because silicone oil paper has certain characteristics of high temperature resistance, water resistance and oil resistance, it is also commonly used in the food packaging industry.
Use of PE coated paper & Release paper
The main characteristics of PE coated paper are high burst resistance and good flexibility; it has good waterproof, moisture-proof and oil-proof functions. Coated paper is divided into three types: single-sided coated, double-sided coated and interlayer coated. The film can have different characteristics according to different industries, such as food packaging: it can automatically obtain its oil-proof characteristics; when it is used for automatic packaging machine packaging, it must remove the heat-sealable characteristics.
The following are the detailed uses of PE coated paper roll:
1) Chemical industry: desiccant packaging, camphor balls, washing powder, preservatives.
2) Food: paper cup fan and paper cups, bread bags, hamburger packaging, coffee packaging bags and other food packaging;
3) Wooden products: tongue depressor packaging, ice cream scoop packaging, toothpick packaging, cotton swabs.
4) Paper: coated paper packaging, light coated paper packaging, copy paper (neutral paper).
5) Daily life: wet tissue bags, salt packaging, paper cups.

Release paper is a kind of paper that prevents pre-preg from being polluted. It is divided into single-plastic release paper, double-plastic release paper and plastic-free release paper, which can play the role of anti-isolation and anti-adhesion. Generally applicable to electronics industry, automotive foam, printing industry, food industry and medical industry, etc. In many cases, release paper needs to be used in combination with sticky materials, especially in the adhesive tape and self-adhesive industries, where release paper is often used.
